Community Bankers Financial Services Names Curt Smallbrock President & CEO

Bloomington, Minn., Jan. 6, 2026 – Community Bankers Financial Services (CBFS) has named Curt Smallbrock President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026.

Smallbrock brings more than 25 years of experience in community banking and financial services, with deep expertise in commercial lending, bank management, business development, and relationship management. He joined CBFS in January 2022 after more than a decade in community banking and has played an integral role in delivering tailored insurance solutions and trusted advisory support.

As part of the leadership transition, Kevin Christians will continue serving as Executive Vice President through his planned retirement at the end of 2026, ensuring continuity and stability through the transition period.
