BankIn Minnesota is built around the needs, ideas, and experiences of its members. Committees give bankers and Associate Members an opportunity to bring that perspective directly into the work of the association.
Committee members advise BankIn staff and leadership, share what they're seeing across the industry, and help strengthen programs, resources, advocacy, and opportunities for the community banking industry.

Emerging Leaders CommitteeDeveloping the next generation of community banking leaders. The Emerging Leaders Committee helps BankIn strengthen opportunities for early- and mid-career professionals to grow as leaders, build relationships, and become more involved in the association and industry. Members provide insight into the needs and challenges of emerging professionals, help shape leadership development and networking opportunities, and create pathways for future involvement and leadership within BankIn. |
Innovation & Solutions CommitteeHelping community banks prepare for what’s next. The Innovation & Solutions Committee provides insight into the products, services, technologies, and industry developments that can help community banks operate more effectively and remain competitive. Members help evaluate potential Associate Members and Endorsed Providers, review existing partnerships, identify emerging needs and opportunities, and advise BankIn on solutions that can deliver meaningful value to member banks. |
Legislative CommitteeBringing the community banking perspective to the policymaking process. The Legislative Committee helps guide BankIn’s advocacy priorities and strengthen the voice of community banks with policymakers. Members provide feedback on legislation and regulatory issues, help identify emerging policy concerns, build relationships with legislators, support grassroots advocacy, and help shape clear, timely messaging around the issues affecting community banks. The committee also works closely with the BankIn Minnesota PAC to strengthen political engagement and participation. |
Marketing CommitteeElevating the voice and story of community banking. The Marketing Committee provides practical perspective on BankIn’s marketing, communications, and member-facing resources. Members advise on association campaigns and messaging, digital initiatives, marketing resources, industry storytelling, and emerging communication trends. The committee helps BankIn better understand what resonates with bankers and consumers and where shared resources can better support community banks. |
Member Engagement CommitteeConnecting members with the value of BankIn. The Member Engagement Committee provides member perspective on how community banks and Associate Members experience and engage with BankIn. Members help evaluate member benefits, identify opportunities to increase participation, improve the member experience, strengthen onboarding and ongoing engagement, and ensure BankIn continues responding to what members need and value. |
Past Chairs CommitteeBringing experience and perspective to BankIn’s future. The Past Chairs Committee brings together former BankIn and ICBM Board Chairs to provide strategic counsel, historical perspective, and mentorship to current association leadership. Past Chairs serve as a resource on long-term strategy, governance, advocacy, industry trends, and organizational transitions, helping BankIn benefit from the experience and institutional knowledge of those who have previously led the association. Membership is open to eligible Past Chairs who remain in good standing with the association. |
How Committee Membership Works
Committee participation is intentionally structured to bring a range of voices and perspectives to the table.
Depending on the committee, BankIn considers factors such as geography, bank asset size, professional experience, and representation across member institutions when selecting members. Some committees also include Associate Member representatives who can contribute relevant industry expertise and perspective.
Each committee works with BankIn staff and includes a liaison from the BankIn Minnesota Board of Directors, helping connect committee discussions and recommendations with the association's broader strategic priorities.
Expressing interest does not guarantee an immediate committee appointment, but it lets BankIn know you'd like to be considered as opportunities become available.
Help Plan a BankIn Minnesota Event
You don't have to serve on a formal committee to have a hand in shaping the BankIn Minnesota experience.
Member volunteers also help plan several of BankIn's signature events, including:
- Convention
- LEAD Conference
- Ag Conference
These planning groups provide member perspective on programming, speakers, activities, networking, and the overall event experience.
