Bank Milestones
Recognizing Generations of Community Banking
A significant anniversary represents more than the passage of time. It reflects generations of relationships, service, and commitment to the customers and communities a bank has served along the way.
A BankIn Minnesota Tradition
Community banks are built for the long term. A milestone anniversary reflects not only a bank's history, but the generations of customers, employees, leaders, and communities that have been part of it.
BankIn Minnesota's milestone flag tradition recognizes that longevity and the history behind it. Each year, selected member banks celebrating significant anniversaries are presented with an American flag in a handcrafted wooden display case commemorating the milestone.
Today, these cases are displayed in community banks across Minnesota, each one marking a significant chapter in a bank's history.

The Story Behind the Flag Cases
Each display case is handcrafted by veterans at the Minnesota Veterans Home – Hastings Domiciliary. Through the Domiciliary's woodshop program, veterans spend significant time creating each wooden case by hand.
For years, their craftsmanship has quietly been part of BankIn's milestone tradition. A case displayed in a member bank isn't simply a commemorative piece; it reflects the time and care of the veteran who made it.
Recognizing Your Bank's Milestone
Each year, BankIn reviews member bank charter dates to identify significant anniversaries to recognize through the milestone flag tradition. We then connect with those banks to coordinate the presentation.
If your bank has an important anniversary approaching – especially if you're planning an anniversary celebration or other event during the milestone year – we'd love to hear about it. Knowing your plans can help us coordinate the flag presentation and, when possible, make it part of your celebration.
