Job Title:
Credit Officer

The Credit Officer contributes to the loan decision-making process and sound portfolio management by providing in-depth credit analysis on new and existing clients for Business Banking Officers and Loan Committees. Monitors complex loan files for adequate and current financial information and documentation. Directs the activities of credit analysts. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Credit Underwriting & Loan Portfolio Monitoring 60% 1. Completes loan requests and reviews 2. Analyzes financial information 3. Identifies, requests, and tracks information needed to complete the credit analysis 4. Identifies and reports areas of concern 5. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and bank regulations 6. Reviews loan file for proper documentation 7. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports 8. Monitors and makes recommendations for updates to Bank policies pertaining to the lending function 9. Completes appraisal and evaluation reviews 10. Periodically completes property evaluations on commercial and residential properties 11. Performs site visits as needed Supervises Credit Analysts 20% 12. Manages and assigns area workload 13. Develops and monitors work plans that align with the Bank’s strategic goals 14. Provides guidance, assistance, and resources to support individual and team performance Implementation of Technology and Systems within the Business Banking Department 10% 15. Analyze department needs 16. Coordinate implementation teams 17. Create processes and procedures 18. Implementation of system Additional Duties & Responsibilities 10% 19. Compiles audit information 20. Orientates external examiners and responds to requests 21. Serves on bank committees as needed 22. Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required 23. Other job related duties necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position

A 4-year college degree in accounting, finance, business or equivalent required. A minimum of 5+ years accounting/finance related experience preferred. Banking experience required. Must possess courteous and professional customer service attitude; excellent verbal and written communication skills; legible handwriting; ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential client and Bank information. Must possess excellent mathematical skills up to and including statistical analysis; strong computer skills, technical ability to input and retrieve computerized information; strong organization and follow-up skills. Must possess ability to deal effectively with time pressures and stress that can change hourly depending on level of client activity. Must possess effective problem solving and technical research skills. Must be a self-starter and independent thinker.
