This position is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of computer systems, including but not limited to Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and server and desktop technologies. Able to identify, analyze and resolve complex network/system/technical issues quickly and efficiently such as Windows, Cisco, Dell, Veeam, and VMware. Monitors systems performance to identify potential areas for improvement and to prevent service interruptions.
This position requires a high level of understanding of Data Center technologies including but not limited to Cisco Unified Computing Systems, Cisco switches and routers, Dell EMC (storage/network devices). Highly experienced skillset of disaster recovery processes, including the use of Veeam backup and recovery solutions and VMware VSphere management experience.
To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the planning and implementation of network security, including maintaining firewalls, configuring VPN, managing host security, file permissions and file system integrity.
Works with IT Manager and IT vendors on IT related projects.
Manages and performs various system upgrades and new system implementations on physical servers, virtual servers, virtual desktops, and desktop computers.
Troubleshoots complex issues, and improves efficiencies in network security and software deployment by leveraging existing technologies and recommending new technologies to aid in this process.
Ensures adherence to security controls including patch management, systems hardening, change management, and other IT related controls as defined in Information Security and Technology policies.
Provides escalated support for Help Desk and Application Specialists. Provides backup Specialist responsibilities such as: providing customer service to end-users, the administration of users, and software application support.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crawl and use computer for extended periods. Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a 4 year college or university preferred and/or 5+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in managing a variety of systems including but not limited to Cisco routers and switches, Dell EMC SAN management, Veeam Backup and Recovery, VMware VSphere management.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
IT certification preferred.
