Technology Network

Technology Network

Industry trends for technology have created a constantly changing landscape for community banks. In recent years, cyber security, core processing, and vendor management have all become hot topics among our members, especially as regulators have ramped up their oversight for IT.

Bank technology managers who participate in ICBM’s Technology Network come together to collaborate and to discuss specific technology challenges and solutions and to learn best practices from one another.

The Technology Network is open exclusively to the employees of ICBM bank members. It is an opportunity for member banks’ technology professionals to share ideas and best practices.

Presentation: We Are Under Attack – Don't Wait Until Your Bank is Compromised to Test Your Incident Response Plan

You can’t be sure how or when your bank will experience a cyberattack, but you can plan on it happening. During this session, bankers will learn more about current cyberattack trends as well as participate in a tabletop exercise where bankers will role play a cybersecurity event and work their way through a sample Incident Response plan (IR plan). During a cyberattack banks need to discover and effectively contain any damage as soon as possible in order to minimize unauthorized access to bank data and the resulting short-term and long-term effects to the bank. However, establishing a good IR plan requires more than fulfilling a checklist. In this exercise, bankers will learn some of the additional considerations they should be making when creating an IR plan and their effects such as:

  • How will forensics be performed to investigate how the breach started?
  • Do employees know what to do? How do their actions affect forensics?
  • Who will your key contacts be (executives, key vendors, employees, etc.)?
  • Potential ways to improve your current incident response policy.

  • How and why ransomware has evolved in the last 18 months
  • What is needed to build a strong cyber defense plan
  • What tools will be needed
  • How to do a DR Test of a Cyber Resiliency Plan using ransomware as the simulated attacker

Pricing: Complimentary for Bank Members only
