2022 Workforce Essentials Forum




While the past few years have created HR and workplace challenges for all businesses, many of those challenges are unique to the banking community. From HR best practices and optimization of your workplace programs to important regulatory compliance issues and employment policies – we can help. The ICBM Workforce Essentials Forum is designed to help you better understand your organization’s specific workforce needs and provide opportunities to collaborate with HR experts and other banking professionals in order to take your human resources department to the next level.


The forum will include large group instruction, breakout circles, Q&A sessions, and networking lunches, allowing you to learn about and discuss topics such as recruiting, remote work, compliance, process automation, culture, and strategy in a variety of engaging formats. It also includes exclusive access to an online community, where forum members can interact and post questions to facilitator and peers via the online discussion board.

Session Descriptions:

Session 1 | Leaves of Absence

This session will cover the different types of leave, as well as best practices for administering them. We will also cover how these programs work together and review some complex scenarios. 

Session 2 | Handbooks and Job Descriptions

This session will be focused on employee handbooks, including what is required, how to develop effective policies, and how to get the most out of your organization's handbook. We will also discuss how job descriptions act as an important building block for your organization and how to go about developing legal and effective job descriptions.  

Session 3 | Recruiting, Selection, and Onboarding Compliance

This session will cover how to identify and attract the right candidates for your organization and how to improve the employee experience during recruiting and onboarding. We will also discuss current compliance issues, auditing, raids, and auditing and automating I-9s. 

Session 4 | Accommodations and Remote Work

This session will address remote work and its many aspects related to Human Resources. We will discuss remote work as it relates to Covid-19, but we will also cover remote work in general, including current legislation and taxes, issues and concerns of remote work, and best practices for managing remote workers.

Session 5 | Performance Management and Compensation

This session will cover how to develop an effective performance management program, including best practices, format options, and program implementation and training. We will also discuss different compensation models and considerations. 

Session 6 | Wage and Hour and Payroll Compliance

This session will cover wage and hour concerns, to include pay equity, FLSA, and Minnesota Wage Theft. We will also discuss payroll compliance and payroll-related taxes.

Session 7 | Process Improvement and Automation (HRIS)

In this session, we will discuss process improvement and automation. We will discuss how to approach overall process improvement for your organization. We will also discuss HRIS systems, including system options, compliance considerations, effective system implementations, and maximizing system utilization.
