In this presentation we’ll discuss the key components of basic financial wellness and various strategies to mitigate financial stress.  The topics will range from budgeting to estate planning to debt repayment to investment goals, and several others in between.  With such a broad topic, there will be some built in flexibility to dive deeper into other top of mind topics attendees may have that are potentially not covered.

This session will cover: 

  • How to minimize financial stress and the steps needed to take control of your financial future.
  • The benefits and strategies around creating and maintaining a useful budget (including leave behind PDF).
  • How to define and prioritize savings and investment goals
  • How to make the most of every dollar available to you

Presenters:

Todd Mathison, Retirement Trust Officer for BPAS, Todd works directly with plan sponsors in assisting them with their fiduciary responsibilities of selecting and monitoring investment options within their plan.  Todd is also responsible for participant enrollment and review presentations, as well as one-on-one consultations and retirement income planning. Todd joined BPAS in 2021 as part of the acquisition of Fringe Benefits Design of MN, Inc., a Minnesota-Based bundled 401(k) Administration/Recordkeeping company where he worked as a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant for 10 years. Todd is a Certified Financial Planner™ and holds his CMFC (Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor) designation through College for Financial Planning.  He maintains a Life, Accident & Health license as well as FINRA Series 65 and 63 securities licenses.  Todd graduated from St. Olaf College in 2009 with a major in Mathematics and a concentration in Statistics.


Isaac Coutier, Participant Education Specialist for BPAS, Isaac works directly with plan participants in helping them navigate their working years in preparation for retirement.  Isaac focuses on investment guidance, retirement accumulation/distribution strategies, and general financial wellness education. Isaac joined BPAS in 2022 as a recent graduate of St. Olaf College.  He has a major in Economics with a concentration in Finance, and holds his FINRA Series 65 license.
